How It All Began

First off let me introduce myself. My name is Jon Winslow and I live here in San Diego, California. A while back I needed to lock my green surplus military ammo can to safely transport a hand gun to the range. (I own a van, so there is no trunk). I fashioned a crude device from a padlock hasp and thought there had to be a better way. Well there was, but nothing that was good quality, easy to install and most of all, inexpensively priced.


So necessity being the mother of invention, I went to work designing a product that would have the qualities above, and would also work with all the ammo cans out on the market (small hole, big hole, slotted). After a lot of trial and error I came up with a design and put it on Ebay in April of 2014. Since then through Ebay, word of mouth , and guns shows here in Southern California, the lockers have been well received and well reviewed. The reviews have all been strongly positive. Customers love the quality of the product, and the ease of installation.

A Little About Myself

After spending over 21 years on a fire department here in San Diego County, I sadly had to retire due to a Shoulder operation that left me unable to do my job. Shortly before retiring I had played around with the idea of the ammo can locker and now having some time on my hands, decided to go forward and see what would happen. After several months of trial and error, I was able to perfect a design that was good quality, simple to install, would work on all styles of ammo cans, and most importantly, be Affordable. At the prompting of a good friend and mentor, I started selling them on Ebay and at the Gun shows with great results and great feedback. Several months into it I had an idea for a simpler, more user friendly design. After much research and wanting to keep the manufacturing here in the USA, I was able to find a machine shop here in the United States that could make my new version out of Stainless Steel and still keep it affordable. The 2nd generation is the result of that. So the locker stud is made here in America by Americans. How great is that? So entering my second chapter in life I am happy to say that the great feedback I am getting from my customers all over the world confirms that I made the right decision to go for it....
